Description
Sri Venkateswara Swami Vaari Venkateswara, an avatar of Vishnu. Devotees believe that Venkateswara appeared on earth to save humankind from the trials of Kali Yuga. Venkateswara is known by other names such as Srinivasa, Balaji and Govinda.
According to the Brahmanda and Bhavishyottara Puranas, the name “Venkata” means “destroyer of sins” because it is derived from the Sanskrit words vem (sins) and kata (power of immunity).
He is worshiped as the god of the seven hills, or “yedu kondala venkanna”
